Promotional design to activate a student-led design chapter.
Invitation to establish and lead.
Handbill invitations were designed and posted to promote an initial member meeting that sparked the formation of a new board and the official re-establishment of the AIGA student group at UNO.
Continuity & Unity
Each letterform was crafted from a continuous line, overlapping and converging to symbolize unity. Color coding created linguistic and membership group distinctions. Current AIGA members were represented in blue, collectively gathered at the center, while potential student members appeared in red along the edges—two distinct groups coming together.
Columnar Structure
To create the layout structure, a 16-column grid was built from a one-half-inch square proportion. The proportion was built from the symmetric proportion defined in the national AIGA logo. Custom letterforms were then placed to sub-divide or relate to column widths.
Risograph Production
The handbills were produced using photo-reproduction techniques and a Risograph, evoking activist distribution through fast, multi-color prints. Placed throughout the art building, they prioritized typographic clarity, access, and visibility.
