From August 2020 to May 2021, I served as the national co-chairperson for the 2021 UCDA Design Education Summit: Re–. This national conference brought together more than 100 design educators and students from universities across the country to the Department of Graphic Design in the School of Media and Design at the University of Incarnate Word, in San Antonio, Texas, for a two-day conference, May 23–24, 2022. In this role, I supported Chairperson, Michael Clayton, Professor of Graphic Design.
The UCDA Design Education Summit: “Re-” focused on how design educators have applied this prefix to their courses, their students, their projects, their research, and their personal practice. The schedule included over twenty hours of content with 29 peer-reviewed presentations, panels, and workshops; nine peer-reviewed poster presentations; and two live keynote presentations. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, this event was moved online and conducted virtually.
